Astell renames its water recirculation option available on sterilizers up to 63 litres.
Ecofill is the new name for Astell’s unique water saving feature that has been available on its small capacity autoclaves for years. Ecofill can be specified on the 63 litre top loading ‘Compact’ range and on all three sizes of front loading ‘Benchtop’ units - available in 33, 43 and 63 litre capacities.
Importantly, Ecofill front and top loading autoclaves require no service connections - simply plug the unit in to a single phase power supply and fill the integral water reservoir and it’s ready to go. This allows flexibility in positioning and servicing the autoclave, with the floor standing Compact model also being fitted with castor wheels as standard.
A full Ecofill tank provides water for up to 15 sterilisation cycles by recycling the water that is automatically returned from the chamber at the end of every cycle. It also acts as a collection vessel for condensate during normal operation, thereby avoiding steam and noise escaping into the lab during air-purge ‘free steaming’.
Astell’s (PED 2014/68/EU) pressure vessel design is angled-up on Benchtop machines to ensure the minimum quantity of water is needed for each load, which not only means very low power consumption, but also very quick heating and cooling, reducing cycle times over similar sized competitors. This, along with ‘Ecofill’, ensures Astell Benchtop autoclaves are amongst the lowest power and water consuming sterilizers on the market.
With laboratories placing ever increasing importance on reducing their environmental impact and utility costs, Astell Scientific provides an easily workable solution to reducing water and power consumption.
