Astell Spreads 'mcch' Cheer!

The picture on the front of our 2007 Christmas card was drawn by Sam who attends mcch’s short term care unit at Falconwood.

We are very proud to have Sam’s permission to use his drawing, and as a ‘thank you’ we have donated the money that we would usually spend on our Christmas cards to mcch’s Falconwood respite centre.

The centre provides a range of fun and stimulating activities for children – from soft play and games to sports and day trips into the community.

Many of the children have severe learning disabilities, including autistic spectrum disorder, and some also have physical disabilities.

Caring for someone with a learning disability or autistic spectrum disorder can be a rewarding experience – but at the same time it can be extremely tiring.

This service, based in Welling Kent, offers families a well earned break by providing overnight residential short breaks for children aged between 5 and 18.

Our Designers, The Art of Design, based in Chart Sutton, Kent, have also assisted us in designing and printing this card at a very special rate.

The centre decided that they would like their donation in the form of Fancy Dress Costumes. For this we have worked together with fancy dress suppliers Wonderland Party, (http://www.wonderlandparty.co.uk/) who have put together a package for us which will give the children lasting enjoyment.

So we thank both Sam, The Art of Design, and Wonderland Party for making this card a success for mcch!
